NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Ganges Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and regular meeting on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ganges Township Hall, 1904 64th Street, Fennville, within the Township.

Please take further notice that the matter to be considered at the public hearing include the following:

The Planning Commission issued its Notice of Intent to Plan in August 2022. The Commission has since reviewed the goals and objectives of the Plan, discussed future land use plans, evaluated demographics and housing data, and solicited input from the public via online and hard copy surveys. The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to recommend the Township Board open the 63-day comment period, as required by the Michigan Planning Enabling Act, to solicit feedback on the draft Ganges Township Master Plan.

The Planning Commission will hold an additional public hearing after said 63-day comment period prior to a recommendation for adoption taking place.

Written correspondence may be submitted to the Clerk at 1904 64th Street, Fennville, MI 49408 up to the date of the hearing and may also be submitted at the hearing.

Anyone interested in reviewing any related information may examine a copy at the Ganges Township Hall by contacting the Clerk (269-543-8316) during normal business hours.

Necessary and reasonable aids for disabled persons will be made available with sufficient notice to the clerk.

The Ganges Township Board of Review will meet at the Town Hall, 1904 64th St, Fennville, MI 49408
on the following dates:

March 7, 2023 - 5:30 pm - Organizational Meeting
March 15, 2023 - 3:00pm – 9:00pm - Appeals Meeting
March 16, 2023 - 9:00am – 3:00pm - Appeals Meeting

Please call for an appointment to appear before the Board of Review at (616) 970-7820 – Heather Jahr, Assessor. Write in appeals are encouraged to keep everyone safe and ensure no one misses the appeal timeline.

The 2023 tentative ratios and multiplying factors are listed by class as set by the Allegan County Equalization Department as follows:

Agricultural - 45.86 / 1.0903
Commercial - 50.20 / 0.9960
Industrial - 44.76 / 1.1171
Residential - 46.32 / 1.0794

NOTICE: TO THE RESIDENTS OF GANGES TOWNSHIP AND ALL INTERESTED PARTIES:

The Ganges Township Board has submitted one Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund grant application for proposed improvements to Pier Cove Park and will be considering submitting a second grant application for the purchase of property adjacent to the park, during the October 12 board meeting. Pier Cove Park is located near the corner of 123rd Avenue and Lakeshore Drive.
